Today there are many free text messaging apps that pack a variety of features into one that everyone loves. Additionally, IMO has some services are so popular that switching to other services becomes impractical. Common names like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, etc. are widely used, and you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn’t use any of them. However, if you are looking for a new platform to use, or if you are new to the texting game and want something quick and easy for all your communication needs in IMO, this may not be for you in my opinion.
Background
To be honest, Free Video Calls and Chat IMO is not different from its competitors in many ways. In fact, all messaging services technically offer the same thing, and rarely, if ever, offer new features not yet available in any other service. The only major difference between ‘popular’ and ‘average’ messaging apps is the user base. WhatsApp and Messenger have more users than this. Like I said before, you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn’t use them. And because you need to use the same service as them for communication. Common sense tells us that these applications continue to gain users, but the average increases over time, or not at all.
Fortunately, IMO itself has a huge fan base. Of course, this is different from the example above, but judging by the fact that the application has 4.69 million unique downloads and a rating of 4/5. If you decide to change your default text app to IMO, don’t hesitate.
Amazing features
And if you decide that it varies from person to person, it might be worth it. That’s what it means to me.
The design of the application is simple and intuitive, in fact similar to the simple and convenient design of WhatsApp. Indeed, the placement of text blocks and buttons but recently the design trend is towards minimal and lightweight experiences, and I find them… ‘suitable’ for WhatsApp’s design. No wonder. There’s only so much you can simplify before the beauty of the app itself becomes dull. When it comes to interactive services like text messaging, that’s the last thing you want. The interface shows just five buttons: voice and video call buttons, a camera and emoji, and a button to return to the contact’s screen. Without all the extra features it becomes a really tedious and boring experience.
Overall, the design passes with a good rating in my opinion. Sure, it’s not great that the two designs are so similar that IMO they’re technically stolen, but borrowed is beautiful, so it doesn’t really matter.
Additionally, like other messaging applications, IMO uses end-to-end encryption (E2EE) standards for all transmissions. This small-scale encryption technology is also used by WhatsApp and many other security apps, making WhatsApp technology popular. Although I don’t really expect perfect protection, but maybe that’s just my suspicion.
The thing about these apps is that as long as you have internet, you don’t really have to pay anything other than data charges, so they’re much better than standard carrier calls or SMS. This is true if you have a 3G or LTE plan, except it’s a completely “free” service. As IMO is a commercial text messaging app, it also offers unlimited video and voice calls and text messaging capabilities. There is no argument in favor of this branch. Many tricks work for this very basic and fundamental functionality. Calls are clear and messages are received well at the other end.
Photo and video sharing is no exception. Download and upload speed really depends on your internet speed and the speed of others, but overall IMO it handles very well and is as fast as advertised.
When you join Facebook, IMO gives you pages of your favorite free emojis. The quality may not be as good as other services at the moment, but I hope there are more options.
Summary
To be honest, it’s “just” a text messaging app. He may have a new name, but he still brings something new to really stand out from the crowd and move forward. At this point, it’s simple for an app of this class, and may not be acceptable to many people. So if you don’t want to use the app at this stage, no problem. There are many others.
